This is a replica of a silver pendant found in a cremation grave in Sibble, Sôdermanland in Sweden. It is dated to Viking Age.

In Norse Mythology a Valkyrie is the one that choose who may die or stay alive in a battle. The Valkyries take the chosen one to an afterlife in Valhalla, ruled by the god Odin. The other half of the dead go with the goddess Freya afterlife field, Folkvangar.
