The inspiration for this beautiful Viking brooch comes from a find from the island of Gotland, Sweden.
The originals were a pair of gilt-bronze bird decorations on a harness. Displayed in the fantastic Historiska Museum, Stockholm.
This motif is found on archeological finds from many different areas, including the seventh-century Stton Hoo ship-burial in England.
