Gotland Bird Brooch in Sterling Silver

The inspiration for this beautiful Viking brooch comes from a find from the island of Gotland, Sweden.

The originals were a pair of gilt-bronze bird decorations on a harness. Displayed in the fantastic Historiska Museum, Stockholm.

This motif is found on archeological finds from many different areas, including the seventh-century Stton Hoo ship-burial in England.

This version is cast in Sterling Silver

This brooch has be cast in using the lost wax process.
